Magpul Gen 1 AFG Angled Fore Grip for M1913 Picatinny Rails
The Gen 1 Magpul AFG puts the hand in a position called supination. Supination occurs when the hand is held with the palm facing up and the knuckles towards the ground. This puts the musculus supinator muscles in extension with most weapon movement coming from the distal radioulnar articulation. (wrist joint) With weapon articulation coming from the wrist, the muscles being in extention, and the supination muscles being stronger than pronation muscles the AFG actually reduces shooter fatigue and enhances point control like no other firearm grip on the market.
** The Gen 1 has wider sides which allows more protection from the handguard. Ideal for Round Tubes, VLTOR CAS-V type and other handguards that have heat dissapating when firing. Will interfere with standard picatinny rail covers where the sides flare up on the front of the AFG. **
Unlike conventional vertical fore-grips, the Magpul AFG (Angled Fore-Grip) takes into account natural body mechanics and provides a comfortable and stable user interface that reduces fatigue and allows for more precise weapon control. By positioning the shooter's hand high on the centerline of the bore, the AFG helps mitigate recoil and control the weapon, facilitating faster, more accurate follow-up shots.
